Where in the world is Tarnish&Gold….?

Tarnish&Gold's new home - opening fall of 2011

It’s been quite a summer…

Since moving out of our Marshall St NE location in May, we’ve been on the prowl for a new home, the right home.  We set up shop in our temporary office in Dinkytown and started the search!  Well, it took us all summer but we’ve found our new home in THE FOUNDRY BUIILDING.  Located at 349 13th Ave NE (yes, right between the 331 and the NE Social) The Foundry Building houses businesses who, like Tarnish&Gold, care about community.

As of now, The Foundry Building is comprised of The Barber Sharpe (shave and a hair cut!), Tiger Rose Tattoo, Studio 3 (sliding fee scale massage therapy), and T&G!  We couldn’t be more excited to be open in our new location.  Check back soon; lots of juicy details about our grand RE opening in October!

Edith J: Portrait of a Muse

“WEBSTERS STATES IT WONDERFULLY, A MUSE IS THE SPIRIT THAT INSPIRES THE ARTIST.  THE MUSE DOES NOT HIDE FROM HER NATURE TO INSPIRE, JUST AS THE ARTIST CAN NOT HIDE HIS HUNGER FOR INSPIRATION.  BOTH ARE DESTINED TO COLLIDE INTO A CREATIVE FISSION.  THE ARTIST / MUSE RELATIONSHIP KNOWS NO AGE OR TIME.  THE MUSE AND ARTIST GO BEYOND CONVENTION AND CONFORMITY TOWARD MEANINGFUL ART AND IF THE WORK AND THE STARS ALLIGN…IMMORTALITY.

I MET EDITH WHEN I WORKED WITH HER FOR THE FIRST TIME 6 MONTHS AGO.  THERE WAS A IMMEDIATE CONNECTION, FROM THE MASTER PHOTOGRAPHERS WE ADMIRED TO OUR SHARED ARTISTIC VISION.

SINCE THE FIRST SHOOT IN FEBRUARY OF 2011 WE HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME TOGETHER.  WE HAVE SHARED OUR STORIES OF TRIUMPHS AND TRAGEDIES, TO BECOME FAST FRIENDS.  WE HAVE TRAVELED TOGETHER TO SOME GREAT LOCATIONS, FROM ILLINOIS WATERFALLS, TO THE SOUTH DAKOTA BADLANDS, AND ULTIMATELY A 2000 MILE JOURNEY TO CALIFORNIA BEACHES, AND JOSHUA TREE.

THROUGH IT ALL EDITH CONTINUES TO CHALLENGE AND INSPIRE ME TO BECOME A BETTER ARTIST AND PHOTOGRAPHER.”           -Risen Phoenix
